What’s a Turniput? Your light show’s new best mate. Powered by the Turnip Network, a Turniput turns everyday inputs into light show magic. With the web interface you can: Launch playlists in FPP Set FPP volume for a set time Trigger BaldrickDMX presets Control BaldrickSwitchy ports Activate test modes and CunningFX on a Baldrick8 Fire advanced FPP commands Send webhook requests Not Just Buttons A Turniput can be triggered by almost anything: Beam break – walk through the archway and your Christmas lights burst into life, or trigger a ghost when someone enters the haunted hallway. Reed switch – open Santa’s post box and start a “Ho Ho Ho” soundtrack, or crack open a coffin lid to wake the skeletons. Motion sensor – stroll up the drive and a chorus of carols begins, or step on the porch and hear a blood-curdling scream. Distance sensor – as the kids get closer to the tree, the lights glow brighter, or as trick-or-treaters approach, the pumpkins start to flicker. Sound sensor – clap to change scenes in your winter wonderland, or shout loud enough and unleash the thunder in your haunted graveyard. Smarter Buttons If your button has a built-in lamp, the BaldrickInput8 makes it more than just a clicker. The lamp can mirror the status of your Turniput so the button itself becomes part of the show. Set it to: On – show the input is armed and ready Off – keep things dark until it’s triggered Breathing – a smooth pulse that teases “press me” You can also lock out a button after it’s pressed, stopping repeated triggers for a set time. Handy if you only want one snowstorm per kid at Christmas or a single thunderclap per trick-or-treater at Halloween. Press. Hold. Control. Every Turniput gives you two states, Press and Hold. Each can do a different job, so one button can trigger twice the fun. Add timeouts between actions to pace things perfectly and create clever, layered interactions without breaking a sweat. With the BaldrickInput8, your light show doesn’t just shine, it reacts, responds, and comes alive.
